Special events
All of our special events serve as fund and friend raisers for Junior Achievement, and individual participation and company sponsorships are what makes them so successful year after year!

 

JA Banks in Action (Junior Achievement, Wilmington, DE)
JA Banks in Action is a volunteer-led program built around eight classroom sessions. During each session, students learn the fundamentals of the banking industry and then have the opportunity to apply what they learn in a competitive environment using the JA Banks in Action computer simulation. Five teams from each school are nominated by their teachers and/or volunteers and JA picks the top five performing teams to compete in the North American Elimination Round in May. PROS Bank from Newark High School qualified in June for the final round of competition. David Hampton, Dana Pinder, and Stephanie Schneck will compete in New York City on June 29 - July 1, 2008 against 15 other students teams from around the country.

Battle of the Titans (Junior Achievement, Wilmington, DE)
High school students assume the role of top company management as they apply their economic knowledge and skills to win market share and profit for their shareholders while demonstrating corporate responsibility to their employees and communities.


Bowlaganza (Bowlerama, New Castle, DE)
Our oldest and most fun-loving fundraiser! After collecting pledges and selling raffle tickets to support JA, bowlers gather with co-workers, friends and family for some spirited bowling competition at the Bowlerama in New Castle. Bowlers battle for a chance to win trophies for the highest (and lowest!) scores of the day, and six lucky raffle ticket holders go home with fabulous grand prizes! A Night with the Stars in Vegas (Junior Achievement, Wilmington, DE)
JA Delaware's most glamorous casino and auction-style fundraising event! The evening includes live and silent auctions, Monte Carlo-style gaming, incredible food and drinks and special appearances by old Hollywood stars! Young Women's Forum (Junior Achievement, Wilmington, DE)
Open Opportunities…Encourage Dreams …Build Confidence!  This wonderful conference includes mentoring, motivation, and opportunity for high school sophomores and junior young women.  Guidance counselors nominate students to experience a motivating day of career, financial & personal planning with local female role models.


Governor's Invitational Golf Tournament (Wilmington Country Club, Wilmington, DE)
Entertain your best clients and vendors when you support the leading organization devoted to business and economics education. With more than a decade experience, JA Delaware continues to present the finest golf tournament in the state, offering an extraordinary day of gifts, prizes and networking while golfing at Wilmington Country Club, one of the premier courses in the country.

Where the future and current leaders of our community come together!  Students explore a special interactive agenda focused on ethics in the business community during the day.  Delaware’s business leaders join together to enjoy an elegant dinner celebration while inducting two new laureates into the Hall of Fame.
